Is the internet making us all more unsociable?

Is social networking ruining our communication skills

The Internet is huge and the possibilites on it are endless, There are many positives and many negatives with it and some are positives with negative effects. If your reading this then you have heard of all the social networks out there. To name a few; Facebook, Twitter, Bebo, Msn, Kakao.

Now obviously social networking has many advantages. We can stay in touch with friends. Reconnect with lost family. Find love. Meet new people and stay up to date with all the latest activities of our friends and families.

However as good as it is to stay in contact on a permanant basis negativity can come from this, Arguments and insults get posted for the world to see but a bigger problem is the fact that we become use to typing in slang and short hand and communicate through typing and we forget the proper manor of how to speak to someone, what our body language can signal. It can even knock our confidence for that matter. We can find someone attractive on the internet and type anything to them and hope for the best but when it comes to seeing someone in person we seem to have no idea on how to woo them so to speak.

So yes the positives outweigh the negatives but we must not let ourselves to forget all communication skills which we will need for life.
